Roberts focus on the future and new projects rather than dwell on previous success since the company’s establishment in 1924. It remains a family run business, based on the banks of the Menai Straits, and continues to focus on its key competencies – recipe dishes, sliced cooked meat in gravy and cooked meat products.
Roberts’ customer base includes the best respected pub retailer, foodservice companies, wholesalers and ready meal manufacturers. Complementing the standard range of quality products, we offer exclusive recipe development for large volume lines. Innovation is an integral part of the company’s culture and new products are swiftly taken from the development kitchen into full scale production.
Commitment to innovation is not confined to products and includes production methods, machinery, processes and technical aspects. Roberts have an unswerving commitment to quality, from the careful selection of raw materials through controlled manufacturing to delivery.
Our factory is set up to replicate the development kitchen and not the other way around. We batch produce but batches can vary from 300kg to 5000kg. We have the flexibility to produce smaller production runs but the capacity to produce large volumes. In the raw prep area we can dice, slice, pre-marinade, inject etc. Meat can be portion controlled raw to any format. We also have a range of cooking facilities – steam, roast, sous vide, pressure cooking. In the cooked section of the factory we can also offer a vast range of portion flexibility packed in pouches, foils, single portions, multi portions, IQF frozen etc.
We have BRC higher accreditation and all staff on site are tasked with quality control. We believe quality is not just the responsibility of the technical team but everyone on site. All technical matters (customer complaints, audit results etc) are discussed at both our weekly management meeting, and daily operations meeting, and are a very important part of the way we do business.
