Hearty food on hand for hearty appetites!

We’ve recently been on hand recently to supply some of our bespoke recipe dishes to customers of a very different profile from the norm.

Wharfedale RUFC (who are a National Division 1 England team) who were attending a training camp at Caernarfon’s rugby ground, worked up some hearty appetites in a friendly match against the local team. As active supporters of Caernarfon Rugby Club, the Roberts team offered to supply hearty hot food for the 80 players, ensuring the Yorkshire team enjoyed a very warm Welsh welcome.

“Roberts supplies to pub retailers, foodservice companies, and wholesalers, rather than the public, so it was great to hear enthusiastic and positive feedback directly from those enjoying our food” said Director Sara Roberts. “They polished off pasta & spicy meatballs, pork ribs in BBQ sauce, and chicken & veg pie with no problems at all! The team includes Andrew Hodgson who’s a Barbarian and Rob Baldwin who is an England Counties Captain so we were dealing with some impressive appetites!”

She continued “We are a family firm employing local people, and we enjoy actively supporting local initiatives such as this.”

The feast was such a success that the Roberts team once again extended their hospitality when a rugby team from Durham School arrived in Caernarfon for training, and are now looking forward to welcoming more rugby teams to enjoy their food.
